The Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) is a voluntary reporting program developed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. PQRS serves to promote the reporting of quality information by eligible professionals through financial incentives.
Beginning in 2015, the program applies a negative payment adjustment to EPs and PQRS group practices who do not satisfactorily report data on quality measures for covered professional services. Those who report satisfactorily for the 2016 program year will avoid the 2018 PQRS negative payment adjustment.
What if I don’t report my data?
Eligible professionals who do not satisfactorily report data on quality measures for covered professional services will incur a negative payment adjustment. The PQRS payment adjustment applies to all Part B covered professional services under the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. Reporting data submitted for the 2016 PQRS program year will be used to determine whether a 2% penalty applies in 2018.
Who will report for me?
If you are a private practice, it is your practice’s responsibility to submit PQRS data (if you are an employed health system practice, contact your practice administrator)! Your electronic medical record vendor or registry vendor may be able to help support your submission process. If you are not submitting through an EMR or Registry, make sure you biller is prepared and documenting your data. The Physician Alliance will not support any PQRS submission process.
PQRS reporting options provided to The Physician Alliance members:
The Physician Alliance has partnered with CeCity to offer discounted services for PQRS reporting. The PQRSWizard provides step-by-step approach to help ensure that eligible professionals (EPs) meet all of the data, scoring and attestation requirements before they submit their PQRS reports to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). PQRSwizard is powered by the CECity Registry, a CMS-certified registry for PQRS.
Similar to online tax preparation software, the PQRSwizard is a web-based tool to guide EPs through a few easy steps to help rapidly collect, validate, report, and submit the results to CMS.
Why use PQRSwizard?
•• Avoid penalties
•• Individual EP and GPRO reporting
•• Data entry and file upload tools
•• Real-time data validation
Wellcentive offers a PQRS user interface and support line to help physicians extract their data via Excel or manual entry via the website. If your data is currently included in Wellcentive via TPA’s disease registry, Wellcentive can easily extract data to the PQRS software.
