About TPA’s OSC:
An organized system of care (OSC) is a community of caregivers, including primary care physicians, specialists and acute care hospitals. OSCs have a shared accountability for a specific patient population.
The Physician Alliance is recognized by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan as a low cost, Level 1 network due to our physicians’ efforts in providing coordinated, high quality and cost-effective health care. Our physicians also engage in the Patient Centered Medical Home and Patient Centered Medical Home – Neighborhood care model development.
Organized Systems of Care (OSCs) completed the final year of their OSC enablement projects focused on registry implementation and enhancement, risk stratification, and outcomes designed to assist each OSC with their Blue Cross population on the path toward taking on risk. This program is now evolving into the Risk Based Opportunity (RBO).
BCBSM Physician Choice PPO product:
Blue Cross launched the Physician Choice PPO, on Oct. 1, 2016 that is offered only to OSC members. This is an innovative PPO model that financially encourages patients to select and engage with a PCP to direct and coordinate their care. PCPs can refer patients to specialists in the OSC network, enabling patients access to high quality physicians while paying lower costs. If your practice is a member of TPA’s OSC, you are automatically enrolled in this product.
